If you’ve found yourself here, you’re probably a fellow pet person who’s Googled things like “why does my cat have diarrhea every Tuesday” or “is it normal for a cat to meow constantly at ceiling fans.” You are not alone...and you've come to the right place. :)

Welcome to my little online home. My name’s Lucy and I’ve been an animal-lover all of my life. At one point or another, every one of my five cats has dealt with something health-related that sent me down a rabbit hole of research, forum scrolling, vet follow-ups, trial-and-error treatments and a few internal breakdowns in the wet food aisle at Petco (who knew picking the right novel protein for your cat with IBD could be so stressful!).

Meet My Crew

Let me introduce my furry chaos committee:

Butabi: Our resident teddy bear. He's a big boy with the sweetest temperament. And no amount of food can satisfy his hungry belly and he will let you know about it all day!

Ziggy: The most mischievous fluffball you'll meet! He's part ragdoll, so he'll droop in your arms...but don't be fooled, he regularly tricks his siblings into getting what he wants.

Lars: My anxious, tender-hearted boy. He can detect change at a molecular level and has a black belt in hiding from the pet sitter. But when it's just the two of us, he's the biggest cuddle bug.

Zigrit: Wise, queenly, and not afraid to give you the slow blink of judgment. She regularly makes our house a raceway and zooms by like a flash, earning her the nickname "black lightning".

Daphne: Our sweet Daphne sadly passed away in early 2024 and we miss her dearly. She had chronic kidney disease and she taught me so much about caring for a sick cat. Daphne was spunky and fiesty, yet elegant and quite the socialite.

Each of them has taught me something different about love, patience, panic-googling at 12AM and the weirdly emotional world of pill-popping.

Why I Built This Place

I created this site because I needed a site like this the past few years. When I was dealing with IBD, kidney issues, anxiety, arthritis, dental drama and all the other surprises cats like to gift us, I kept ending up on Reddit threads and deep in blog comments, looking for actual stories from people who’d been through it. I craved real-life insight, not just sterile medical protocols or how things are "supposed" to work with certain medicines and illnesses. Since when do cats ever "go by the book"?!

So now that I’ve racked up a decent amount of experience (and vet bills), I figured why not make a space for other people like me? People who love their animals like family, who are trying their best and who just want some practical help and emotional encouragement without the pressure of being perfect cat parents.

What You’ll Find Here

As I continue to add more to this website, you’ll find:

  • Honest thoughts about managing chronic conditions in cats

  • Personal stories of what’s worked (and what’s hilariously failed)

  • Printable resources for tools, support and comfort

  • Scripture-based encouragement if you’re feeling emotionally run over

  • A sprinkle of silliness to keep things light, because let’s be honest, some days are just...a lot

Whether you're here because you're navigating a health issue with your own cat, or you just like cozy corners of the internet filled with fur and honesty, I'm really glad you found your way here.

Snuggle up with your favorite furball, poke around the blog, download something helpful and know you're not in this alone.
